2 Minute Read:

Stem cells are unique in their ability to self-renew and alter their characteristics. A stem cell adapts to growth and regeneration requirements to rebuild muscle, bone, organs, and other tissues. Stem cell regeneration is used in cosmetic procedures to reduce the effects of aging naturally.

How Do Stem Cells Work?

Types of Stem Cells

Three types of stem cells have been defined. Pluripotent stem cells generate many types of tissue. Multipotent stem cells differentiate into several types of similar cells, while unipotent stem cells only generate one cell type. Cosmetic procedures utilize multipotent cells called mesenchymal stromal cells, or MSCs.

Stem Cell Enrichment

Adipose-derived stromal cells, or ASCs, are MSC cells. ASCs come from adipose tissue, commonly known as fat cells. Liposuction removes adipose tissue from an area of the body with ample fat deposits.

A Celution system purifies adipose with an enzyme, collagenase, to break down fat cells. This separates and concentrates regenerative stem cells, which are mixed back into the fat to create stem-cell enriched adipose.

Advantages of Stem Cells

A significant advantage of ASCs is the abundance of fat cells available for purification. Stem cell-enriched adipose is also safe from immune rejection because the cells come from your own body.

What Kind of Regenerative Cell Treatments Are Available?

Stem Cell Facelift

Stem-cell enriched fat cells are injected into superficial muscular structures during a stem cell facelift. The procedure increases skin health and restores volume for a youthful appearance. It is most effective for jowls, nasolabial folds, and loose skin around the neck.

Stem Cell-Enhanced Facelift

A stem cell-enhanced facelift is a vertical facelift combined with other procedures. Surgery is performed with an electrical knife and hydro-dissection, and fat grafting restores volume. Dermal pedicles, an endoscopic brow lift, and sparing fat blepharoplasty complete rejuvenation. The stem cell-enriched adipose improves skin texture and encourages the growth of new blood vessels to improve circulation to facial tissues.

Non-invasive Stem Cell Lift

A non-invasive stem cell lift does not involve surgery. Stem cell-enriched adipose is injected into the face through small incisions. The procedure promotes blood flow and tissue regeneration to help skin recover from sun damage, smoking, or loss of volume and elasticity related to aging.

Are Stem Cell Procedures Safe?

The FDA regulates stem cell treatments in cosmetic procedures under an Investigational New Drug Application, or IND. This means that the procedure has been thoroughly reviewed, and the FDA is aware of it. Seek services from reputable clinics operating in compliance with FDA regulations.
